Clamp-on liquid flow meter is an instrument that uses ultrasonic technology to measure liquid flow. Its core features and applications are as follows:
Working principle
Time difference method: Calculate the flow rate by measuring the time difference between the propagation of ultrasonic waves in the fluid in the downstream and upstream directions. When the fluid flows, the propagation speed of ultrasonic waves in the downstream direction increases, and that in the upstream direction slows down. The time difference is proportional to the flow rate.
Doppler effect method: Applicable to liquids containing particles or bubbles, and the flow rate is calculated by measuring the frequency change (Doppler shift) of the reflected wave.
Core advantages
Non-invasive installation: No need to cut the pipeline or stop work, just clamp the sensor on the outer wall of the pipeline, which is easy to install and reduces maintenance costs.

Measurement requirements:
Accuracy requirements: ±1% flowmeters are required for high-precision scenarios (such as trade settlement); ±2% can be selected for general monitoring.
Medium characteristics: Time difference method is preferred for clean liquids; Doppler method is selected for liquids containing particles.
Environmental conditions: Special materials (such as Hastelloy electrodes) or protection levels (such as IP68) are required for high temperature, high pressure or strong corrosive environments.
